Our day in Tokyo began with a visit to CSL Behring K.K. where with met with the critical care and immunology team, led by our host Ms. Tae Itabashi. They manage commercial operations for CSL Behring in Japan and are involved in corporate planning, marketing, regulatory and medical information activities. We had a great exchange of ideas on how accelerate marketing of Berinert in Japan.
2. HAKUHODO Kettle
After lunch, we visited HAKUHODO Kettle, a creative agency very similar to ours, and led by creative director Kentaro Kimura.
As Kentaro shared his case studies, he also told us about the agency’s core brand:
“As the world becomes cooler, it’s time for someone to heat things up. HAKUHODO Kettle was established in 2006 in order to ‘boil the world’ by boiling ideas and pouring them onto our clients. The whole process is done on one table from strategy to creative, sales promotion, and PR based on a core idea that meets target insight. We propose and implement totally new campaigns that exceed ordinary advertising methods such as publishing books, producing chandeliers, and distributing tissues etc. We call it Method-Neutral.”
We enjoyed putting a Kettle on the stove, lighting the fire, and watching how they boil the world!
3. Merck Japan
To complete the day, we met with Shinji Shogase, Manager of the Lab and Biosciences business for Merck Japan. We had an engaging discussion about the current opportunities and future vision for the industry. We also reported the relevant learnings from the EMD/Merck Asia-Pacific business meeting we had just attended in Cebu. I presented him a copy of ForwardFast for his business library.
